Beard Transplantation

Hair follicles are usually taken from the back of the scalp and implanted into the beard area one by one, following the angle and direction of natural facial hair. It can fill patchy areas, thicken a thin beard or restore hair lost to scarring. The design is planned with you before the procedure.

Candidates usually have patchy or thin facial hair, realistic expectations and a good donor area on the scalp. Your general health, skin condition and any history of scarring are considered. If you might want a scalp hair transplant in future, the donor supply is shared, so both should be planned together.

Redness, small crusts and mild swelling are common in the first days and usually settle within about one to two weeks. You will be told when you can wash and shave the area. Transplanted hairs often shed in the first weeks, and regrowth starts gradually over the following months. The medical team gives you your own timeline.

Scalp hair can look very similar to beard hair once in place, but its texture and growth can differ slightly, and it may grow longer. Many men keep the beard trimmed, which helps it blend. The result depends on donor-hair characteristics and placement, so an exact match with native beard hair cannot be guaranteed.

Follicles taken from the back of the scalp tend to be resistant to pattern hair loss, so transplanted hairs generally keep growing long term. However, nobody can guarantee every graft, and some may not survive. Follow aftercare carefully in the first weeks, when grafts are most vulnerable.
